Operating in over 100 countries, IREX works with partners to drive positive social change.

🚀 About Exchange Program:

The Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program, started by IREX, is a global network aimed at fostering collaboration among civil society leaders aged 21-27. The program lasts a year and offers a mix of practical experience, theoretical learning, and networking opportunities to help participants create positive changes in their communities.

🏆 Benefits:

  • Practical Experience: Participants spend three months in the United States, working with civil society organizations. This hands-on experience offers exposure to different methods of community engagement and leadership.
  • Leadership and Civic Engagement Academy: CEE fellows follow an intensive curriculum that combines theory with practical work. Through service learning, in-person trainings, mentorship, and professional coaching, participants develop essential leadership skills for community-driven initiatives.
  • Community Engagement Project (CEP): With support from their U.S. host organization and mentors, fellows design and carry out a community engagement project in their home countries. This project is a real-world application of their learning and dedication to positive change.
  • CEP Exchange: Some U.S. hosts and CEE experts travel to the fellows’ home countries to help with project implementation. This partnership strengthens global connections and boosts the impact of community initiatives.
  • Global Network: Participants join a lively global network of changemakers dedicated to solving 21st-century challenges. This network provides ongoing support, collaboration, and inspiration even after the program ends.
  • Financial Support: The program covers various costs, including J-1 visa support, round-trip travel, monthly living stipends, and health benefits, ensuring participants can fully engage in the program without financial worries.
