Fashion Designer- Sewa Charitable Trust

Program Overview!
We are seeking a passionate and creative Fashion Designer (Fresher) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work directly with women from tribal areas, assisting them in learning new techniques and using modern equipment for simple stitching and embroidery. As part of our team, the Fashion Designer will help design a variety of handcrafted products using 30-40 machines that help in production and that showcase the rich cultural heritage of these communities, while also promoting skill development and self-sufficiency.
- Training and Skill Development:Â Teach women from tribal areas basic to intermediate stitching and embroidery techniques, enabling them to work with modern tools and equipment.
- Product Design:Â Collaborate with the team to design a variety of products such as apparel, accessories, and home decor that reflect tribal traditions and modern styles.
- Fabric and Material Selection:Â Assist in selecting appropriate materials and fabrics that are sustainable and culturally relevant for the designs.
- Product Development:Â Support the creation of prototypes and assist in the development of final products that can be marketed by Seva Charitable Trust.
- Collaboration with Local Communities:Â Work closely with tribal women to ensure designs meet both traditional and contemporary needs, providing a blend of cultural preservation and modern appeal.
- Documentation:Â Maintain detailed records of designs, materials used, and production processes for quality assurance and future reference.
Quality Control: Maintain standardization and control the quality of products being manufactured within the organization.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Experience:Â Freshers are welcome to apply. Prior experience in fashion design is a plus but not required.
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of stitching, embroidery, and garment construction.
- Creative with an eye for detail and an understanding of tribal aesthetics.
- Ability to teach and mentor others, with strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with the use of modern equipment and tools in fashion design is desirable.
- Other Requirements:
- Passion for community empowerment and sustainable fashion.
- A team player with the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
