Program Overview!

The URRR grant program by GMF is designed to support Ukrainian NGOs and independent media organizations that are addressing critical needs arising from ongoing conflicts and challenges. The program focuses on three main areas:

  3. Recovery: Assisting in the rebuilding and development of civil society and media infrastructure in liberated territories.

Application Process

  2. Applications must be submitted in English or Ukrainian.
  3. Proposals are reviewed twice monthly, with submission deadlines on the 15th and 30th of each month.

1. Emergency Support (Up to $25,000, 3–12 months)

  • Who can apply? Civic activists, media professionals, and their families
  • What’s covered?
    • Social, legal, and mental health services
    • Relocation support within Ukraine or to Moldova, Romania, Poland, etc.
    • Temporary accommodation and transportation costs

2. Recovery & Capacity Building for CSOs (Up to $25,000, 3–12 months)

  • Who can apply? Civil society organizations needing operational support
  • What’s covered?
    • Digitalization support (new equipment, data storage systems)
    • Mental health services for staff and volunteers
    • Legal assistance for human rights cases
    • Operational costs (salaries, office rent, utilities)
    • Emergency training (data security, first aid)

3. Support for CSOs in De-Occupied Territories (Up to $25,000, 3–12 months)
