Are you passionate about human rights and eager to make a difference? The Humanity in Action Fellowship offers a unique opportunity to engage with social justice issues, learn from experts, and join a global network of change-makers. Applications for the 2025 Fellowships are now open—seize this chance to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable world.
The main initiative of the Humanity in Action Fellowship is gathering recent graduates from many backgrounds together with university students to investigate historical and modern issues regarding human rights, democracy, and social justice. The fellowship begins in one of several European cities—Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo, or Warsaw—with a three-week intensive educational program where colleagues participate in lectures, seminars, site visits, and workshops.

After the first program, peers are assigned to create and carry out a community-based Action Project during the next year. Using the information and skills acquired during the fellowship, these initiatives seek to solve particular social justice concerns within the fellows’ local communities, therefore producing real influence.

Eligibility Criteria
- Current university students or recent graduates.
- Citizens or permanent residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, or the United States.
- Proficiency in English, as the fellowship programs are conducted in English.
- Demonstrated interest in human rights, social justice, and civic engagement, with a willingness to actively participate in all components of the fellowship.
Application Process
- Prepare Application Materials: Gather necessary documents, including a resume, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement outlining your interest in the fellowship and commitment to social justice.

- Interviews: Selected candidates may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process.
