The Delhi Government provides several scholarships to assist SC/ST/OBC students in keeping on with their studies. These scholarships help students from Class IX through Class XII as well as those seeking higher education either in India or outside. Designed to assist SC/ST/OBC kids attending Delhi’s government-aided and recognized institutions, the Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojna A unique program also offers financial support for SC students enrolled in overseas higher education. This program seeks to enable students to keep on their educational path free from financial worry.

Benefits:

  • ₹5,000 per annum for students in Class IX and X who have secured at least 50% in the previous class.
  • ₹10,000 per annum for students in Class XI and XII who have secured at least 60% in the previous class.
  • No income limit for students who secured 75% or above in their previous class.
  • Financial aid for 100 SC students pursuing Master’s or Ph.D. programs abroad in fields like Engineering, Management, Sciences, Agriculture, Finance, and Humanities.

Application Process

For School Students:

  1. Visit the official website of the Delhi Government’s education department.
  2. Register online with valid details.
  3. Upload required documents:
    • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by the District Magistrate, GNCT of Delhi.
    • Family income certificate issued by the Revenue Department, GNCT of Delhi.
    • Mark sheet of the previous academic year.
    • Proof of school enrollment (Class IX to XII).
  4. Submit the application before the deadline.

For Higher Studies Abroad:

  1. Visit the Delhi Government scholarship portal.
  2. Complete the online application form.
  3. Upload necessary documents:
    • Proof of residence in Delhi for the last 5 years.
    • Admission proof to an accredited foreign university.
    • Academic mark sheets.
    • NOC from employer (if applicable).
  4. Submit the application and wait for selection results.
  5. If selected, sign an undertaking agreeing to refund the financial aid if studies are discontinued.

  • The scholarship is merit-based, and no additional quotas apply.
  • Discontinuing studies after receiving aid may require repayment of funds.
  • Changing universities or courses after selection is not permitted, except under extraordinary circumstances.
