The Taipei Tech Southbound Short-Term Study Program is a five-month international exchange initiative to promote cultural exchange and academic growth. This program is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Taiwan and focuses on studies in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor technology, as well as Chinese language learning. The program provides a comprehensive experience combining academic learning, cultural activities, and practical training

🏆 Benefits:

The benefits of this program are designed to provide a well-rounded experience for participants. Students will receive a monthly stipend of NTD 8,000, which will help cover their living expenses in Taiwan. Additionally, the program includes a round-trip economy class airfare reimbursement of up to NTD 15,000, ensuring that students can travel to and from Taiwan without financial burden.

Participants will also receive a housing allowance of NTD 18,000 per month, ensuring comfortable accommodation throughout their stay. The living expenses of NTD 10,000 per month will cover daily necessities, making it easier for students to focus on their studies and cultural experiences.

The program covers all course and activity fees, providing access to high-quality academic resources and unique cultural experiences. Students will also be covered by student insurance for the five-month duration, with a total insurance cost of NTD 3,300. Field trips and cultural activities are an integral part of the program, offering students the chance to explore Taiwan’s rich culture and history.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this program, applicants must be students from one of the following countries: Pakistan, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Nepal, Laos, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, or Vietnam. Eligible applicants must be sophomore, junior, or senior students at their home universities. Residents of Taiwan, Hong Kong, or Macau are not eligible to apply for this program.

One notable aspect of the eligibility criteria is that there is no requirement for proof of English proficiency. This makes the program accessible to a wider range of students who might not have had the opportunity to take standardized English tests.
